Keep calm & Put the kettle On
written by Jennifer Hewitt
IN AYURVEDA, SPRING IS A SEASON OF CLEANSING AND RENEWAL and Ayurvedic herbal teas are considered medicine for the mind, body and soul.
Ayurvedic herbal teas are widely used for their medicinal abilities and for cleansing and healing imbalances in the Doshas* Tea time is also just a great way to take an intentional pause anytime you need a moment of solitude, to reconnect with yourself. Even if you don’t have a regular meditation practice, this simple ritual for resetting and calming the mind has the same positive effect on the brain and body.
Balance is the key to health and longevity. Ayurveda teaches us how to live long and be well.
Isn’t that what we are truly here to do?
Ayurveda isn’t myth or magic. Ayurveda has been practiced for more than 5,000 years and that is why it is known as the original lifestyle medicine from India.
Long before modern medicine gave us the scientific discoveries we know today, Ayurvedic physicians were teaching patients how to create a lifestyle that promoted good health, happiness, harmony, prevention of disease and longevity.
The purpose of Ayurveda today is not to replace modern medicine but to help guide us closer towards our unique balance, intuition and wholeness - the foundation of natural well-being.
When the demands of modern life push us out of alignment we are more prone to sacrifice and skip out on movement, good sleep and nutrition, healthy relationships and quality downtime, which only opens the door to greater stress, more fatigue and burnout, accelerated aging, illness and chronic disease.
Ayurveda understands that when it comes to well-being one size doesn’t fit all.
Ayurvedic Daily and Seasonal Routines
Your body is unique and it works hard for you, so why not give it something it so badly needs?
Ayurveda uses daily and seasonal routines and rituals that help restore balance to the mind, body and spirit.
As the season shifts, Ayurveda tells us it is time to align our daily wellness routines with the changing seasons to prevent illness.
