Ayurveda Workshops for Spring Renewal
A Spring Renewal Workshop Series is coming to My Pilates Studio and you don't want to miss it!
Maybe if we start talking about Spring more, it’ll finally decide to show up - at least that’s the approach I’m taking from here on out!
I’m thrilled to welcome my friend Jennifer Hewitt to help us ease into this beautiful season together.
As some of you know, I have a background in Holistic Nutrition and spent years coaching clients on healthy eating and integrating the whole body framework - nutrition, movement, and spiritual practice - into their lives. It’s a truly holistic approach to health and well-being, one that’s all about being proactive and preventative when it comes to our health.
Are you ready to: reawaken, realign, and restore?
As nature prepares to burst into bloom, it’s the perfect time to align ourselves with the season of renewal.
We’re excited to invite you to our Spring Renewal Workshop Series, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda- the original lifestyle medicine.

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the ancient science of conscious living that originated in India thousands of years ago and continues to be practiced today. You could say Ayurveda is the original lifestyle medicine - and Western science is only now beginning to validate what the ancient Vedics always knew.
According to Ayurveda, everything is energy and information, and we are in a constant and dynamic exchange with our environment. The mind, body, and spirit are inseparable. When we learn to trust our inner intelligence, we can make better lifestyle choices - around nutrition, sleep and movement - that honour our whole health.
Why Spring?
Spring is a much-celebrated season of renewal in Ayurveda. In Spring, nature treats us to an elegant display of energy, gently pushing us out of the cold, dark stillness of winter and into the warmth and light of spring.
But while nature transitions gracefully, we humans often feel a little stuck or overwhelmed by change - mentally, physically or emotionally.
You may notice signs like fatigue, inability to motivate, heaviness, brain fog or a sense that things just aren’t flowing with ease.
Ayurveda reminds us that health is balance.
If we've accumulated toxins or are holding on to stagnant winter energy, this is the perfect time to create new self-care and Ayurvedic wellbeing
practices that align with the energy of a new cycle. By building simple daily or seasonal routines grounded in Ayurvedic practices, we can begin to invite more clarity, vitality, and harmony into our lives.
Spring Wellbeing Tips
Let light lead your day: Use natural daylight to reset your internal rhythms and improve sleep.
Reconnect with nature: Step outside, pause, observe. Nature is a powerful healer.
Eat to fuel: Choose fresh, local, seasonal fruits and veggies. Eat mindfully, and stop before you feel full. Understanding your unique Dosha allows you to choose the most pacifying foods for your body type.
Stay hydrated: Sip warm teas or lemon water throughout the day. Adding ginger helps with digestion and improves detoxification.
Move your body daily: Find what you love - whether it be Pilates, yoga, walking - and stay consistent.
Prioritize sleep: Aim for 7–9 hours of deep, restorative rest each night.
Engage with community: Do something that brings you joy, meaning and a sense of purpose.
Spring Forward Lightly: Spring Renewal Workshop Series with Jennifer Hewitt
In this workshop series we will begin to invite more energy, balance and healing into our body, mind and spirit with practical and accessible tools from the wisdom of Ayurveda.
Each workshop will provide you with useful science-backed insights and time honoured Ayurvedic practices that you can use right away to support and enhance your wellbeing.
1. First, we learn all about the roots of Ayurveda, the five great Elements, the Doshas and take the Dosha quiz to uncover your unique Doshic profile. Learn how to balance your Doshas with circadian rhythms, nutrition, sleep and movement and other Ayurvedic lifestyle practices.
2. In Ayurveda, Spring is a season of reawakening, change and growth making it a perfect time to release any accumulated toxins and stagnant Winter energy. We will learn how to use accessible Ayurvedic rituals to shift from surviving to thriving. Leave with a personalized daily routine (Dinacharya) that supports renewal and complements your Doshas.
3. Our bodies naturally want and know how to heal. Ayurveda is beautiful in its simplicity. However, our busy lifestyles can challenge our nervous system and keep us from gaining access to this natural healing energy. We will explore how the Ayurvedic inner pharmacy can help return us to whole. This class will incorporate gentle yin and restorative yoga, sound healing, and aromatherapy to help relieve anxiety and stress, release stored tension and surrender to rest.
4. Gather with your new community to enjoy sampling delicious and nourishing Ayurvedic foods that align with the Spring season. We will discuss how to use seasonal food as medicine for energy, balance and mood.
